The Summer Series continues with Kade Phillips and Brandon Santini. As always, admission is Free (with donations accepted).
Kade Phillips was born and raised in the bluegrass region of Kentucky, thirty minutes from Louisville, and took up an avid self-study of organ building at eleven. Only a year later, his family moved to the high desert of Eastern Oregon—70 miles away from the nearest pipe organ. At age 13 he began taking lessons from Ilo Schmid (still the spunkiest 80+ year old he knows), playing hymns and stealing away to see real organs whenever he'd visit other cities. Today he studies Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT and studies organ with Christian Lane. He loves being a part of a vibrant community and marvels that he ended up here, having so many experiences beyond his wildest dreams.
Brandon Santini, organist and pianist, is a native of Weymouth, MA. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in both organ and piano perfor- mance from the Oberlin Conservatory where he studied with James David Christie and Peter Takács and subsequently received his Master of Music degree in organ performance from the Eastman School of Music under the guidance of David Higgs. He has performed throughout Massachusetts and serves as the Music Director and Organist for St. Theresa of Avila Parish in West Roxbury, MA as well as maintaining a piano studio of about 20 stu- dents. Currently he studies with Christian Lane.
